I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but…
everything does not have to be perfect.
you don’t have to be everything to everyone all the time.
it’s okay if your house is dirty.
it’s okay if your laundry is piled up.
it’s okay if your roots are showing and you haven’t put makeup on for a week.
it’s okay if there are dishes in the sink.
it’s okay if there are toys scattered everywhere.
it’s okay if you haven’t worked out today.
it’s okay if you haven’t returned a phone call.
it’s okay if you need to go take a nap.
it’s okay to eat that slice of chocolate pie.
it’s okay if you need to go take a walk by yourself.
it’s okay if you need to take a vacation alone.
it’s okay to rest on Saturday.
it’s okay to draw boundaries
it’s okay if you weigh more than you did in your 20s.
it’s okay to ask for help.
it’s okay to take care of yourself.
Accept what is.
Allow yourself to be “in” all of it and for all of it to be okay.
Sit with where you are right now life, at this moment, and breathe.
Suffering is beating yourself up for all the ways in which you perceive yourself falling short. Repeat after me: I don’t deserve to suffer.
Everything is temporary.
