Welcome to Authentic Yoga! No need to be serious. Come as you are, do what you can, and have fun...after all, it's just a practice. 

 

Our yoga classes are discounted from traditional studio prices to a simple $5 per class flat fee because the space is shared with Ascension MMA and a physical therapy business. By the way, your first class is FREE!

 

The energy of the space will leave you feeling happy and proud of what you've accomplished.   

 

Whether you are a seasoned yogi or a curious beginner, our brand of Authentic Yoga will positively transform your life.

 

Authentic Yoga is a combination of various yoga traditions, cardio, body strength-training, and Mindfulness. Authentic Yoga will surely challenge you while vastly benefitting your overall well-being. We want to support you on your quest for more confidence and empower you to be the best version of yourself.

Meet the Instructors

Jess Place, PhD, the owner and lead instructor for Authentic Yoga Studio, is a RYT 200 certified Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance. She is also a certified Kidding Around Yoga teacher and co-owner of North Georgia Mindfulness Project. She was been teaching yoga for two years and has been practicing for six; she loves helping people reach beyond what they think they are capable of, both physically and mentally. Jess incorporates Mindfulness and meditation into her classes.

Casey Waters is a RYT-200 certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. She has been teaching for just over a year. Casey loves helping people in the day-to-day as is witnessed in her "day job" as a 911 dispatcher. She enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and dogs in her free time. Casey like to incorporate meditation, music, and fun in her yoga classes.

Christy Holland is a certified 500 hour RYT and Certified Health Coach. She started her yoga journey by becoming certified to teach stand-up-paddle (SUP) yoga in 2013, moved to her 200 hr in-studio training in 2014, and has since gone on to complete TRX, Aerial yoga training, and her 300 RYT. She is a married mother of two and is also a coach for SporTykes- a preschool sports program.

Class Descriptions

Yoga Sweat

 

This is a one-hour, all-levels, yoga flow class with a mixture of standing positions and stretching. Yoga Sweat is where strength, cardio, and flexibility practice meet. You will definitely leave this class with a sense of accomplishment and happy vibes. 

 

Yoga 101 (for beginners)

Yoga 101 (for beginners), a one-hour yoga flow class, is a good place to start if you want to learn how to get into and hold yoga poses. In this class, we focus on correct alignment and breath-work. The instructor helps with cues and no-touch adjustments to help you attain the correct form. This is a fantastic class to take whether you are a beginner yogi or you want to get back into a consistent practice.

Please bring a yoga mat, sweat towel, and water.
